Cigar Cake

For Father's Day Elijah suggested I make Jason a giant Cigar cake. I figured it was appropriate considering my son was named after his favorite one :) Here it is!

Super Mario Brothers

This is the cake I made in May for Elijah and Ashton. Not only was this my first time baking a layered cake, it was also my first attempt at using fondant. I had no clue what I was getting myself into. It was challenging but who doesn't love learning (or attempting to learn) something new. Making the cakes for the kids birthday is one of my favorite things to do and I look forward to it every year. I can't wait for Jason's next birthday; I'm going to attempt to make a slot machine cake.

Numero Deux

For Elijah's next birthday I thought, hey, why not ask Elijah and see what he wants. Little did I know he'd tell me he wanted a shark jumping out of the ocean for his cake. Yikes! What did I get myself into? After searching online for ideas and inspiration I finally came up with this...

The start of my obsession

This is the first cake I actually took the time to decorate, rather then just throwing on the frosting with some candles. It was for Elijah's 3rd birthday party.  There's not much to it, but I had fun.
